Where is the studio? Is there parking? Where is your entrance?

We are located at 23812 Crenshaw Blvd. (between 239th and 238th street on Crenshaw just north of Lomita Blvd.). Parking is free and available in the front and the back of the studio. The lobby/main entrance to the studio is located behind the building. If parking behind the studio is full, please park in the plentiful spots in the front and come around the building to the back lobby entrance. It is a 45 second walk around the little shopping strip mall at an average pace!

Is there an Introductory Offer?

New clients can get 3 classes for $55 or 2 weeks unlimited for $69! Once you take your first class, you have 2 weeks to use your other intro classes! After the 14 day period, this offer expires. This applies even when you book a class and late cancel it or just don’t show up. This offer is for students that reside locally. Do I need to reserve a spot?

Yes, online reservations are required or call the studio if you have trouble with booking. The Momence app is accessible on your smart phone.  Download the free app or book through the classes tab on our website.  It is always recommended to show up 10-15 min early to check-in. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to class. Please cancel any reservations you have within 60 minutes of the start of class. Late cancellations will be automatically charged $10. No shows will be charged $15/class. Doors lock when class starts, no late entries permitted.

What if I’m late to class?

We understand that extenuating circumstances cause unavoidable tardiness. However, on-time arrival for class is necessary and no late entry will be guaranteed. Doors will be locked at class start times for security purposes and to prevent disruptions. No special accommodations are possible. If you arrive late, please do not disrupt class, enter quietly, and if the door is locked do not bang on the door, accept that the class has started and you missed your arrival window.

What if I’ve been traveling or feel a little under-the-weather but want to attend class?

At Kefi Yoga, it is our policy to adhere to all COVID regulations under the law. Further, if you feel sick it is best to stay home to recover. Our staff has also been instructed to stay home if they have any symptoms of illness.

Can my partner or my child use my membership or class pass?

We highly recommend flowing with your friends and family, however, passes and memberships are non-transferable. You are welcome to bring your children to Kefi Yoga and try an unheated class with them while you are also taking the class. If your child is disruptive, they will be asked to leave the class with parental supervision. If you have a 5 or 10 pack that you purchased and would like to transfer or share with your minor child, we will allow that, however, please note that your cc number will be associated and effectively also transferred to the child’s account and the child will have the ability to make purchases at Kefi Yoga on your cc. Further, any late cancellation fees or “no show” fees related to your child’s account will be charged to YOUR cc on file and YOU will be responsible for those charges.

How much are your classes?

Workshop & Event Cancellation Policy

Workshops and events have a strict 72-hour cancellation policy. No exceptions.

What if the class I want is full? How does the waitlist work? What if I late cancel or forget to show up?

The class, event or workshop you want to book may fill up. If it does, you may add yourself to the waitlist on Momence. If, at a time before the "Momence cutoff period" (60 minutes before the start of the class) a spot in the class becomes available, the Momence system will automatically send a text to the first person on the waitlist, asking them to confirm that they want to be booked into the class. Text recipients will have 15 minutes to confirm that they want to be booked into the class before the Momence system moves to the next customer on the waitlist. Customers who don’t have a phone number on file will be contacted via email (Please note, if you are not "opted in" for email notifications in the Momence system, you will not receive an email notification). The empty spot in the class will be held as reserved until the system has gone through everyone on the waitlist (or until someone is booked in by management at their discretion). Waitlisted individuals can see their location on the waitlist via the Momence app. After the "Momence cutoff period" has passed (e.g., when there are 60 minutes or less remaining before the start of a class), the Momence system will stop texting/emailing waitlist members. Interested individuals can still arrive at the studio 15 minutes prior to the class/event, notify the instructor they are hoping to get into the event, and wait in the lobby for an available spot (not guaranteed). If customers that have booked into the class have NOT checked in at least 5 minutes prior to the class/event start time, their spot will then become available to on-site waiting individuals in a first come, first served basis.

Are your yoga classes heated?

All classes indicated as “Heated” on the schedule will be heated between 90-102 degrees. All “Hot Fusion” classes are heated anywhere from 98-105 degrees. There are also unheated offerings including Slow Flow, Unheated Beginner Classes and Yin where we don’t have the heat on. Our instructors are experienced and intuitive. They have the final determination on how to adjust the heat and humidity in the room depending on the instructors’ sequence, the amount of students in the room, time of day, weather outside the building, how hard the students are working and a host of other factors. The instructors’ preferences within the range indicated above controls the environment of each particular session at KEFI YOGA. Students are encouraged to respectfully provide feedback to the instructors and/or management regarding their preferences, however, please note that excessive complaints and attachments to preferences regarding one element or another will be handled by management on a case-by-case basis to minimize discord in the studio space.

Do all the classes have music?

Yes! Your instructor will cultivate your Kefi with carefully curated selections. Usually the music played reflects the pace of the class. If you dislike loud upbeat music, Sculpt classes are probably not for you.

What should I bring? How should I prepare for class? What if I leave my beloved belongings behind??

Wear workout clothes that are breathable, pliable and comfortable, bring your own yoga mat, towel and water. If you don't have these, we have it all to rent or purchase. Please drink plenty of water before class so you are fully hydrated. We also recommend eating no less than two hours before classes so you are digested. Please be mindful of any side-effects related to your medications or health conditions that are contraindications for our hot classes. We have cubbies for your personal belongings when you come to class. However, Kefi Yoga is not responsible for lost or stolen items in the studio or in your car in the parking lot. If you do abandon your items at Kefi Yoga, it is not the responsibility of the staff or management to find out who the item belongs to and get it returned to that student. Anything left at Kefi is considered lost and Kefi is NOT responsible to contact you or return it (yes even if it has your name and phone number). Take your items home. Shoes are left outside the studio OR removed outside and carried inside to be placed in the shoe bench. TAKE YOUR OWN SHOES WHEN YOU LEAVE KEFI YOGA! SOME SHOES LOOK SIMILAR ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE THE SAME COLOR AND SIZE. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE SLIPPING ON YOUR FEET. PRACTICE MINDFULNESS ON AND OFF YOUR MAT.

Where do I store my cell phone during class?

We have cubbies for your personal belongings when you come to class and storage benches for your shoes. However, Kefi Yoga is not responsible for lost or stolen items in the studio or parking lots, so please keep your valuables at home or locked securely and out of sight in your car. No cell phones allowed in the studio space and if you place your cell phone in the lobby during class - please set it to “do not disturb” and silence alarms and any other notifications!  We also highly recommend taking off those smartwatches that are tethered to your devices or at least putting them on the “do not disturb” setting. The yoga studio is the one place left where you are not expected to be responsible for the immediacy of communications - embrace it!

Do you have showers?

We don’t have showers. You are of course welcome to change in the restroom before or after class. We also have toiletries in the bathrooms for you to use as needed.

I'm not flexible. Can I still do yoga?

Regardless of age, infirmity, or inflexibility, yoga is for every body! It is a process that provides clearer thought, expansion of the breath, and ease of movement in the body. If you have a body and a mind, yoga is for you! At Kefi, we strive to serve all ages and all experience levels. Please know we are here to cultivate your kefi and share the gift of yoga with all!

Are there any prerequisites to qualify for purchasing a class-pass or membership?

No, there are no prerequisites to membership or special qualifications. However, Kefi Yoga reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

How many yoga classes should I take per week?

This is totally up to you! Yoga asana practice is a continual process that develops keen proprioception and strength mentally and physically. To help train all these attributes, at least two to three times are recommended. However, some yoga is better than no yoga so get to your mat when you can!

Are the classes all levels?

Yes, however, Heated Vinyasa and Heated Sculpt are challenging practices that demand a lot from the body. We do welcome all levels to come and try out any of our classes. Our instructors will offer some modifications, but are not able to continually adjust or modify a single individual during a group class. For those wanting extra instruction, we recommend our Beginners Yoga, Slow Flow and Yin practices. Those practices are designed at a slower pace. If you have any injuries, please let the instructor know prior to class. Some instructors may offer private or semi-private classes. Please inquire for information and pricing on private sessions. Further, before and after class, instructors do not have a lot of time for lengthy discussions about yoga postures as they may have desk work or responsibilities to clean and sanitize the studio. Special workshops and master classes will also be available to deepen your practice. Please inquire for information on these special sessions.

What about my phone and can I ask questions during class?

Disruptions during class will not be tolerated. This includes perfume/cologne, cell phones (unless you have an urgent matter that needs your attention, leave your phone on silent in the lobby or in your car), excessive body odor, excessive flatulence or indigestion, openly talking during practice, interrupting class with questions or comments, excessive noise, continually coming in and out of the room during class, or any other type of disruption during any activity at Kefi. Harassment or discrimination of any kind is not welcome at Kefi Yoga. If a student fails to adhere to these policies, the student will be asked to leave the premises immediately without refund.

What if I have an injury but I still want to practice?

You can attend class while working with injuries, however, please listen to your body carefully and follow any doctor's recommendations regarding your injuries. If you are working with an injury please inform the instructor of the nature of your injury prior to class.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes. We are happy to help you give the gift of yoga! See or call the front desk for options.

Do you have prenatal yoga?

We do not currently have a only prenatal class. However, all of our classes can be executed while pregnant. For those that are not regular practitioners in the heat, we recommend our unheated Beginner Yoga, Yin classes and Slow Flows. These classes are designed at a slower pace, providing our instructors the time they need to give you the correct modifications to accommodate the physiological changes that come with pregnancy. All of our instructors are experienced teachers that are dedicated to caring for their students and have completed prenatal training in their yoga certification process. They are fully equipped with the knowledge necessary to accommodate pregnant students in any of their classes. Finally, look for special prenatal and postpartum classes and workshops on weekends or call to inquire.
