KEFI YOGA
KEFI’S ORGIN STORY:
Kefi Yoga was founded by Angeliki Papadakis with deep love and a simple intention: to offer meaningful, joy-filled yoga to the community.
When the pandemic hit, corporate yoga studios were forced to close, displacing instructors, practitioners, and the sense of connection they shared. During that uncertain time, Angel’s brother —who had attended her classes before the shutdown—asked her to guide him through a yoga practice. Angel said yes.
What began as one class quickly grew. Family members and friends joined, and soon it became a grounding ritual—something to look forward to each morning as people everywhere were reevaluating their lives, careers, and sense of purpose. At the same time, Angel and her fellow instructors began offering volunteer classes on cliffsides and in parks, creating spaces of stability and connection for communities in need.
As studios remained closed, the practice settled into a local park in Torrance, where free community yoga was offered daily at 11 a.m. Summer turned to fall, fall to winter, and the community continued to grow. With gratitude and hope, Angel began searching for a permanent home where this newly formed—and deeply bonded—community could gather.
On April 1, 2021, Kefi Yoga officially opened its doors.
Since then, we have been cultivating Kefi at 23812 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505—alongside our friends, our family, and many of the same instructors who once met in the park every day at 11 a.m. We are endlessly grateful for this journey, this community, and the shared joy that continues to unfold.
