Restorative Yoga allows the practitioner to rest deeply and completely. Using lots of props and breath, the goal is complete surrender of tension in the body. Through this meditative practice, space is made for releasing tension in the mind. It is slow-paced and works to release deeply and passively, without active stretch. Restorative Yoga can be highly beneficial to speed up the healing process of the body after injury or prolonged inactivity. By gently moving the body, and supporting it comfortably in various asanas, Restorative Yoga helps to increase blood circulation, detoxification and prevent the formation of excessive scar tissue. This class is unheated. The candlelight calms the mind with beautiful ambient light in the late evenings at Kefi. Andrea will also bring her sound bowls and tantalize your eardrums in an extended savasana at the end of class so you sleep like a baby when you go home! This Special Class will be on the regular schedule and included in all memberships. We may make it a permanent part of the schedule - stay tuned!
